Visitors & Newcomers

Welcome, Visitors!

Thank you for your interest in St. Michael’s! We would love to have you join us for worship. Here is what you can expect when you visit.

When to Arrive

Sunday services begin at 9:30 AM with the reading of the Hours and Confession. The Divine Liturgy starts at 10:00 AM and lasts approximately 90 minutes. Feel free to arrive at any point - there is no wrong time to walk in.

What to Expect

Orthodox worship may be different from what you are accustomed to. Here are a few things to know:

  • Standing is traditional. We have pews, but you may notice people standing at various points during the service. Feel free to sit whenever you need to.
  • The service is sung. Much of the Liturgy is chanted or sung by the priest and congregation. Service books are available to help you follow along.
  • Languages. Our services are conducted in both Ukrainian and English.
  • Children are welcome. We love having children in church. They do not need to be perfectly quiet.

What to Wear

There is no strict dress code, but modest attire is appreciated. Business casual is a good guideline.

Parking & Accessibility

Free parking is available in the church lot. The building is accessible from the main entrance.

Holy Communion

In the Orthodox Church, Holy Communion is reserved for baptized and chrismated Orthodox Christians who have prepared through prayer, fasting, and confession. If you are not Orthodox, you are welcome to approach the priest at the end of the Liturgy to receive blessed bread (antidoron).

After the Service

Please join us for coffee hour after the Liturgy! This is a wonderful time to meet fellow parishioners, ask questions, and enjoy some fellowship.

Questions?

Do not hesitate to introduce yourself to Fr. Stephen or any parishioner. We are happy to answer your questions and help you feel at home.
